The Director of the Human Protein Atlas program Mathias Uhlen delivered a keynote lecture entitled "HPA - implications for human biology, drug development and precision medicine" at the ELIXIR conference in Uppsala.

The talk focused on the 12 sections of the open access resource harboring more than 5 million web pages with special emphasis on the new features to be launched in the version 24 of the portal later this year. This includes novel single cell analysis of the human brain using spatial transcriptomics and a new human pan-disease blood protein resource based on targeted proteomics and proximity extension assay. These two new features will be complemented with a lot of new data in the structure and interaction sections of the resource. The plan is to launch these new features at the HUPO-conference in Dresden in October.
